Cultivating wellness, resilience, and emotional balance to overcome OCD in a supportive and meaningful group environment.
Approximately 1 in 40 adults in the United States will meet diagnostic criteria for obsessive-compulsive disorder during their lifetime. Adults with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) experience intrusive and unwanted thoughts and fears, followed by behaviors aimed to decrease anxiety such as hand-washing or checking. While these behaviors may be effective to reduce anxiety in the short-term, they often feel time-intensive or frustrating.
Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (ERP) is considered to be the gold standard treatment for OCD. Acceptance Commitment Therapy is a newer treatment that has been shown in research to potentially help individuals who may struggle with ERP. In this group, clients will learn exposure skills to gradually decrease symptoms of OCD and increased meaningful actions. Together, Exposure and Response Prevention therapy and Acceptance Commitment Therapy and a supportive group environment form a powerful toolkit for clients, helping them to navigate the challenges of OCD with composure and resilience. By teaching practical skills to overcome OCD in a positive and supportive environment, this unique program cultivates well-being from the inside-out.
