Camp Courage: An Overnight Adventure Camp for Kids and Teens with Anxiety and OCD
Camp Courage is an adventure based therapeutic overnight camp designed specifically for children and teens with anxiety and OCD. Surrounded by over 300 serene acres in the beautiful Texas Hill Country, campers will take a break from the stress and distractions of daily life to focus on finding freedom from anxiety and OCD. Camp Courage provides children and teens with a unique opportunity to challenge their anxiety in a fun, supportive environment alongside their peers who can relate to the unique challenge of navigating childhood and adolescence with anxiety and OCD. Our child and adolescent therapists will work collaboratively with campers to develop an individualized plan specifically tailored to meet their individual camp goals. Campers will face their fears through fun, adventure-based activities like the zip line, trapeze, and hiking. Therapists will take a compassionate, skills building approach to the weekend, incorporating evidence-based treatment interventions (i.e., cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT)).

One in eight children are affected by anxiety disorders; however, it is estimated that 80% of children with diagnosable anxiety disorders are not receiving treatment. Research shows that kids and teens with untreated OCD and anxiety face a higher risk of suicide, substance abuse, poor academic performance, and social isolation. The good news is OCD and anxiety are very treatable. Cognitive behavioral therapy is supported by decades of research. Whether your family has an established relationship with a trusted anxiety specialist or you are just starting out on your journey toward freedom, Camp Courage exists to provide kids and teens with a fun, supportive atmosphere to challenge anxiety alongside a supportive team of peers and clinicians.
The cost for the weekend is $350 and a deposit of $100 reserves your child’s spot. In an effort to provide each camper with individual attention from our licensed therapists, space is limited. Parents are encouraged to apply early.
