Abigail’s clinical interests include anxiety disorders (generalized, social, separation, and school avoidance), self-harm, suicidality, self-esteem, OCD, depression, trauma and behavioral management of disruptive behavior disorders. Abigail has experience working with clients across the life span and particularly enjoys working with children, adolescents, and young adults.

  • Abigail’s approach to therapy revolves around empathy, strengthening the therapeutic relationship, and fostering skill development for her clients. These elements form the foundation of her therapeutic work, allowing her to create a supportive and growth-oriented environment. Empathy serves as a cornerstone of her approach. Abigail understands the importance of deeply understanding and validating her clients’ emotions, experiences, and perspectives. By actively listening and demonstrating empathy, Abigail creates a safe space where individuals feel heard, respected, and understood. In prioritizing empathy and cultivating a robust therapeutic relationship, Abigail enables clients to open up, explore their thoughts and feelings, and begin the healing process. Abigail incorporates a variety of evidence-based methods to create a personalized approach to therapy that will meet the client’s needs. Abigail draws upon modalities such as: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and mindfulness into her work.

  • Abigail earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Michigan and a Master of Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis. In her graduate studies, Abigail completed internships in a state mental health facility and providing clinical support in the elementary school setting. Abigail has received training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Abigail has previous experience providing clinical support in homes, schools and community settings which has enabled her to develop and implement effective and strengths-based treatment for the clients she services. Abigail is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Texas (110608).

  • In her free time, Abigail enjoys spending time outside with her dog, Boda, and husband. She enjoys baking, reading, and exploring new musical artists. As someone who is always open to new experiences, Abigail has directed that enthusiasm to trying new restaurants all around Austin.
